Years ago, on a drive through Medford Square, one would have seen what remained of Medford's first established church. The once-stately church tower had fallen into disrepair over the years, and, due to restoration costs, the tower was demolished since this piece was painted. The painting shows the building in all its disrepair and beauty, underlining the importance of preserving history.
